Snow will develop over areas of the Mid-Atlantic and Upstate New York just after midnight tonight and then expand across central and southern New England through the morning hours, and northern New England through southeastern Canada into Wednesday evening.


The heaviest snow of 12-24 inches will fall from rates to 2"/hr from the Poconos of Pennsylvania, northeastward through much of northern New England. Snow will taper off from south to north across the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England Wednesday evening, central New England Thursday morning, and northern New England to Upstate New York Friday morning. In addition to snow, strong coastal wind gusts to 60 mph (100 kph) are expected from central Long Island to southeastern New England Wednesday morning and through the evening hours.


This storm will impact areas that experienced damage last week, hampering recovery efforts. Major disruptions to logistical operations are expected, with road closures, airport delays, extended power outages, downed trees and property damage all possible.
